the posters are in the shops, the tickets are on their way

Submissions and falls to see
But by the prettiest sight to see
is the one we call Sammy Lee

Lots of kicks and the odd wrestler that shoots
that lies in store for every wrestling fan
villains to boo and heroes to cheer
is what we will be looking forward to
and all of us can’t wait to see the wrestling to start again

There’s Big Daddy in the main event and Kendo is on as well
and Catweazle will make us all go ho ho ho

Soon the bouts will start
and the prettiest sight to see
is the joy they all put in our heart
Sure it’s wrestling once more.


 

While we were sat around the set 
All watching ITV
Greg Dyke said from his lofty perch 
That we must let it be. 

 

Although I was but just a lad 
Born in the year of 68 
I quickly knew what I would like
My 4pm Saturday date. 

 

With Kent sitting by the ring 
With cigarettes in his hands 
I longed to hear his dulcet tones 
Say  "Greetings, grappling fans" 

 

I grew up with Mick and Steve 
And The Royal Brothers too 
Stevie Grey and Johnny Saint 
To name but a few. 

 

The Mighty Stax and Bomber Pat
Finlay and Skull Murphy 
All put me in that happy place 
I really wanted to be 

 

And so I became a semi pro 
Working on the holiday camps 
I never saw my name in lights 
There were no glittering lamps

 

But the one thing I would love to say 
Whilst turning the other cheek 
Is for all of you to have a good
