His entry for Poets in the Corner is:

Kendo Nagasaki

There once was a wrestler called Peter

Who was a real "put bums on seater"

His very first task

Was to don a striped mask

And become a real wrestling world beater

His most famous claim to fame

In this wonderful pro wrestling game

Was to face a masked star

Unbeaten so far

Geoff Condliffe was this wrestlers name

They fought a truly great bout

The loser unmasks theres no doubt

A thousand pound haul

It was winner takes all

And the loser would go home with nowt

The crowd were unhappy with Pete

They shouted and then stamped their feet

But sadly poor Geoff

Was unmasked by the ref

Following his KO defeat

So peter had won by KO

Unmasking poor Geoff at the show

Geoffs fate was now sealed

His face now revealed

And the blood on his face would just flow

Peter would go on from here

To beat off all comers - no fear

He won all his fights

grappling night after night

Unbeaten in many a year

He has now retired from the game

And wrestling will ne er be the same

He was THE masked star

Best wrestler by far

Nagasaki was Peter's ring name

But it doesn't finish here. Bernard Hughes composed very quickly this delightful reply:

Hi Mikey,That's a wonderful tale that you tell,

starting with Peter and ending with Kendo,

Some old folks may disagree, people like me,

who have opinions but don't like to offend-Oh!

You see your much smaller masked man,

great wrestler of course,he was nobody's fool,

but he would not have won against the Giant of the North,

Bomber- the unbeaten masked man called “The Ghoul”
